Our spy photographers have snapped the first pictures of the 2014 Cadillac ELR.
Previewed by the Converj concept, the production model has a prominent grille and a rakish roofline. While the car closely resembles the concept, it features a redesigned front fascia, larger side windows and smaller alloy wheels.
Cadillac has been mum on details, but previously confirmed the ELR will have a Voltec powertrain that consists of a "T-shaped lithium-ion battery, an electric drive unit and a four-cylinder engine-generator." That's the same basic setup as the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera, but the ELR is expected to have a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor.
The ELR is slated to go on sale sometime next year and pricing could start at approximately $55,000.
