Renault launched the Nissan Sunny-based Scala in India, goes on sale in September.

Last week, Renault launched the Nissan Sunny-based Scala in India that comes with a 1.5-liter gasoline unit with 97 hp (72 kW / 99 PS). It’s also available with a 1.5-liter diesel engine that produces 84 hp (63 kW / 86 PS). Both engines are mated exclusively to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Renault said that the gasoline Scala will be available in RxE and RxL versions, while its diesel counterpart will be getting Rx and RxZ trims.

The Scala was redesigned by Renault’s design studio in Mumbai. It is scheduled to go on sale in India at the beginning of next month. It measures 4425mm in length, 1695mm in width and is 1505mm tall, while the wheelbase stands at 2600m. The Renault Scala has a McPherson strut front suspension and a torsion bar rear configuration. RxE models come with 14-inch steel wheels, while the RxL and RxZ get 15-inch alloys.
