The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is scheduled to go on sale next month and promises to be the only high-performance, seven-passenger SUV on the market to achieve an EPA-certified 22 mpg on the highway. In the city it should be able to return 16 mpg with its twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that pumps out 365 hp (272 kW / 370 PS) linked to a 6-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission.

It features a low-gloss Sterling Gray mesh with contrasting ebony bars that have a high-gloss finish, while the black front lower fascia has a functional opening for extra cooling. It is available with a choice of four colors: Ingot Silver Metallic, Tuxedo Black Metallic, White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat and Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat.

The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport rides on 20-inch machined wheels and comes with black roof rails, blacked headlights and taillights, as well as sideview mirror skull caps. Inside we find first-row heated seats, a rearview camera system, 12-speaker audio system, 10-way power driver’s seat, 6-way power passenger seat and SYNC with MyFord Touch.
