Mitsubishi has refreshed the Lancer lineup offered in Australia, with prices starting from AUD $19,990.


Mitsubishi has refreshed the Lancer lineup in Australia, with the base ES model starting from AUD $19,990. It comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth and a revised audio system. The CVT ES model adds Hill Start Assist among, while the Lancer LX has been fitted with 16-inch alloys, chrome touches here and there, side air dams, reversing camera, parking sensors and keyless entry. As for the sportier VRX, this one comes with a 6.1-inch color display audio system with four speakers, subwoofer and four tweeters, as well as rear view camera interface and iPod connectivity.

The Lancer ES and LX are powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder MIVEC engine mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The Lancer VRX is offered with a bigger 2.4-liter MIVEC and the same transmission choices. As for the Lancer Ralliart, this is motivated by a 2.0-liter MIVEC turbocharged, intercooled engine linked to a Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission.

Let’s not forget about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that has a starting price of AUD $56,990 for the model equipped with a 5-speed manual, making it AUD $5,400 cheaper than the previous model. The version with the aforementioned TC-SST is priced at AUD $61,990, representing an AUD $5,400 cut. There’s also the Lancer Evolution MR which will set you back AUD $65,990 (AUD $8,900 cheaper than the previous model year).

The Lancer Evolution is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC engine that delivers 291 hp (217 kW / 295 PS) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque at 3,500 rpm.
