Kia has started producing the cee'd SW at the company's Zilina factory in Slovakia.
Kia has announced this week that the production of the cee’d Sportswagon has begun at the company’s factory in Zilina, Slovakia. The carmaker expects to boost the production at this plant to 285,000 units this year thanks to the strong demand of the cee’d SW. Kia mentioned in the press release that the previous generation of this model accounted 1/5 of the factory’s overall production.
The Kia cee’d Sportswagon is offered with two gasoline engines and two diesels, with outputs ranging from 89 hp (66 kW / 90 PS) to 133 hp (99 kW / 135 PS). It can offer a load space of 528 liters if the rear seats are up and 1642 liters if the seats are folded.
Kia also revealed that the Zilina factory is also making the necessary preparations to accommodate the launch of the sportier three-door pro_cee’d which will reach the production phase at the beginning of next year.
