Earlier this week Subaru revealed the price list for the Impreza-based XV Crosstrek crossover that will hit the dealerships later this fall. The entry-level model will cost $22,790, taking into account the $795 destination charge, while the high-end model will be the 2.0i Limited that will set you back at least $25,290.
The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is available exclusively with a 2.0-liter boxer engine that delivers 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 145 lb-ft (196 Nm) and is mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. It can return 25 mpg city / 33 mpg highway / 28 mpg combined. The crossover benefits from the company’s symmetrical full-time AWD and it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels covered by 225/R17 all-season tires.
It has a 680 kg (1499 lbs) towing capacity and up to 1,470 liters of carrying space or 632 liters with the seats up. The XV Crosstrek has 220 mm of ground clearance while the versions fitted with the CVT get an electronically-controlled multi-plate transfer clutch AWD system that can deliver more power to the rear wheels, while in normal driving conditions the power is distributed 60/40 front to rear.
