National Insurance Crime Bureau says that the 1994 Honda Accord was the most stolen car of 2011.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) released the “Hot Wheels” report yesterday where it says that the 1994 Honda Accord was the most stolen vehicle in the United States. This was followed by yet another Honda, the 1998 Civic, while in third place came the full-size 2006 Ford pickup truck.
Other cars that made it into the top ten include the 1991 Toyota Camry, 2000 Dodge Caravan and the 1994 Acura Integra. Thieves also preferred the 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck, 2004 Dodge pickup truck, 2002 Ford Explorer and the 1994 Nissan Sentra.
This report issued by NICB reveals that this top ten was evenly split last year with five cars built by U.S. automakers and five foreign cars. This report is the result of examined vehicle theft data that was submitted by law enforcement to the NCIC – National Crime Information Center, determining the make, model and year of the vehicles which were reported as being stolen last year.
