Lotus has introduced this weekend at Brands Hatch the Exige V6 Cup, the most hardcore version of the model.
Set to debut this weekend at the Lotus Festival in Brands Hatch, the Exige V6 Cup is the most hardcore version of the model ever made. It will be offered in two flavors: Track Day (62,995 pounds) and “full-on Competition-spec” (74,995 pounds). Both cars are powered by a V6 3.5-liter supercharged engine that delivers 346 hp (258 kW / 350 PS). It has a curb weight of 1080 kg (2381 pounds) and does the 0-62 mph sprint in 3.5 seconds, before hitting 170 mph (273 km/h).
The vehicle features the Lotus Dynamic Performance Management system that gives the driver the possibility of switching between Race, Sport and Touring modes. Other goodies include a multi-adjustable suspension, rear diffuser and wing, aero-optimized front splitter and the Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo rubbers. Also offered are the removable steering wheel, HANS-compliant race seats, a roll cage and a FIA-compliant fire extinguisher. The Lotus Exige V6 Cup is offered with a choice of 4- or 6-point race harnesses.
The British carmaker said that the production will kick off this December and by March 2013 they’ll do an initial run of 20 units. The competition models have been developed by Lotus to run in the various Lotus Cup championships organized in Europe, North American and Japan. This weekend at Brands Hatch they’ll bring a version for the USA.
