SRT announced that this weekend at Monterey in California they will be unveiling the limited-edition 2013 Viper GTS Launch Edition. It will be a throwback to the two previous models (1996 and 2006) as it will wear the GTS Blue paint with dual Bright White stripes.
Aside from this exclusive paint scheme, the car will also get five-spoke, polished forged-aluminum wheels, along with "Stryker" badges on the steering wheel and hood. Inside the cabin it features a serialized dash plaque, Black Laguna upholstery with contrasting stitching, as well as satin silver Alcantara for the headliner and white bezels.
The 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition is powered by the same mid-engine, all-aluminum V10 8.4-liter units that produces 640 hp (477 kW / 649 PS) and a peak torque of 600 lb-ft (814 Nm). The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox that sends those ponies to the rear wheels with the help of a limited-slip differential.
The car's new chassis is 50% stiffer in comparison to the previous Viper, while the curb weight has been lowered by about 100 lbs (45 kg) thanks to the use of a tubular steel space frame, a carbon fiber hood, aluminum doors and the plastic quarter panels. It comes with Brembo brakes, electronic stability and traction control, a 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and a Harman Kardon sound system.
