ABT Sportsline has updated its tuning program for the Audi S8, bringing 20% more power than the standard model.
The pricing for the 2013 S8 was announced by Audi last month and now ABT Sportsline has already developed an upgrade program for the company’s flagship model. In its standard output, the 4.0-liter TFSI engine generates 520 hp (382 kW / 527 PS), but after ABT works its magic this engine can unleash 20% more power, pumping out 620 hp (456 kW / 628 PS). The power unit has a peak torque of 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) compared to the standard 479 lb-ft (650 Nm).
Although it weighs almost two tones, the ABT AS8 is capable of doing the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in approximately 4 seconds, while to get from 37 mph (60 km/h) to 62 mph (100 km/h) it needs 2.8 seconds.
ABT says that in fifth gear the AS8 can reach 74 mph (120 km/h) from 49 mph (80 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds. In a little over 13 seconds it is able to hit 124 mph (200 km/h), on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
