SsangYong’s UK division has announced this week that the Korando Sports will go on sale later on this fall. You might remember the utility pickup from last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show where it was exposed as the SUT-1. The vehicle is motivated by a 2.0-liter e-XDi active diesel engine that produces 153 hp (114 kW / 155 PS) and a maximum torque of 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) available between 1,500 rpm and 2,800 rpm. The power unit is mated as standard to a 6-speed manual gearbox while for more money clients can opt for the 6-speed automatic transmission.
The SsangYong Korando Sports features a part-time 4WD system and has a double wishbone front suspension, with a 5-link rear suspension and hydraulic power steering. It rides on 16-inch alloys with 225/75 tires, while the more expensive EX version gets 18-inch alloys. The vehicle is capable of towing up to 2.3 tonnes.
As standard, it has a leather-covered steering wheel, Bluetooth hands-free, dual remote keyless system and a Kenwood sound system. The EX comes with leather upholstery, 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, rear parking sensors, along with heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors.
