This week, a tax credit of $2,500 or up to 10% of the purchase price of an electric bike or motorcycle has been approved.

We have some good news for those of you planning to purchase an electric bike or motorcycle as a tax credit has been approved this week, amounting up to 10 percent of the purchase price or up to $2,500. The last time a similar incentive was available in the United States was at the beginning of the year, when the one introduced back in 2009 expired.

This legislation was introduced by democratic senator Ron Wyden and obviously he was pleased with the end result taking into account that electric motorcycle producer Brammo has its HQ in Oregon, his home state. However, senator Orrin Hatch criticized the new legislation as he believes that the U.S. government might face fiscal issues.

This recently introduced legislation puts a stop to the tax credit for golf carts, a logical move in our opinion since golfers can simply take a stroll rather than having to drive the golf cart from one hole to the other.
