Audi's UK division has introduced the Audi Cam for allowing technicians to film the inspections and send the videos to the owners of the cars.

Today we bring you some interesting news from Audi UK where the local technicians of the automaker will use the Audi Cam in order to record videos while carrying out workshop inspections. With these "candid cameras" the technicians will have the possibility of providing verbal diagnoses and then to send the recorded clips to the computer or smartphone of a customer, before the work on the car actually starts.

With these handheld video cameras Audi's engineers will pinpoint and provide in-depth explanation about all of the problems found on the car and after that they suggest the solutions for fixing the detected issues. Each of the problems that they find will be filmed in an individual video and then it can be uploaded on a web page which will be accessible only for the customer. The owner of the car will receive an e-mail with the link to the page where he can see the video. This link can be accessed only if the customer enters the PIN number that is sent by Audi UK by text message.

Each of the detected problems will be graded as "urgent", "advisory" or "for info" so that the customer will now how sever the problem is with the car. In addition, that web page also provides info regarding the price for each of the jobs (VAT inclusive), as well as action buttons that allow the client to authorize the repair shop to start the job, reject it or ask for a call back in order to further discuss the detected problem.
