Volkswagen has confirmed the Beetle Convertible will be launched later this year. It will be available with three different engines in the United States.
Volkswagen has confirmed the Beetle Convertible will be launched later this year.
The company declined to release pictures, but said the model will offered with three different engines in the United States:
- A 2.5-liter five-cylinder with 170 hp (127 kW / 172 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque.
- A 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder with 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque.
- A 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder with 140 PS (103 kW / 138 hp) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.
The company also revealed a number of minor changes to the U.S. product lineup. Full details can be found in the press release, but the most notable difference is the Touareg TDI benefits from an upgraded 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 240 hp (179 kW / 243 PS) - an increase of 15 hp (11 kW / 15 PS).
