A few weeks a go, we spotted this mystery Lexus LFA prototype for the first time. Initially, it was thought to be a final edition for the supercar but those rumors were quickly shot down by a Lexus spokesman.

The model is apparantly just a one-off prototype that is testing a number of new technical upgrades, but considering there is no successor in the pipeline, a question remains. Why are they testing upgrades on a model that is set to be axed?

This new spy video that was recently sent to us by our trusted photographers may help to add to the speculation. Noteable upgrades include an front bumper fascia with additional brake cooling side vents, an unpainted carbon fiber hood with new center air vent, a carbon fiber roof, a taller rear wing and larger carbon fiber lip spoilers under the side skirts.
