As the new-generation 2013 Renault Clio broke cover the other day, the digital artists at PS-Garage.com went right to work on the inevitable Clio RS performance variant.

Pleased with the Clio's new base design, PS-Garage artists strongly referenced previous Clio RS spy photos and combined both sources.

PS-Garage's Dan Buzdugan says, "Here is our interpretation, what changed? Lower ride height, bigger wheels, sportier aero kit - more aggressive front bumper, with plenty space for the intercooler and rear diffuser with rectangular exhaust tips. Added a bigger rear trunk wing, also removed chrome trimmings from the doors and the rear hatch."

Current rumors are in favor of a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine replacing the current model's 2.0-liter unit. It is currently used in the Nissan Juke producing 187 bhp (139 kW / 190 PS) but it will most likely output around 197 bhp (147 kW / 200 PS) in the Clio RS. The new engine will be connected to a new dual-clutch gearbox that will be operated by paddle-shifters.

Expect to see the Renault Clio RS unveiled for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in September.
