The recent unveiling of the new CLS Shooting Brake has led to the inevitable speculation that a smaller sibling will be launched. Details of the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake have surfaced on Autocar and they suggests the car is just 2 years from arriving in dealerships.
It will be based on Mercedes' new Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform and will be priced at around £28,000 (€35,000 at current exchange rates). It will follow in the footsteps of the sedan variant that was previewed earlier this year in Beijing as the Concept Style Coupe Concept.
Engines will consist of a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel units that will be crowned by a turbocharged 2.0-liter that will be employed in the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake. The same unit will also power the Mercedes A45 AMG and will reportedly generate 330 hp (246 kW / 335 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.
