Italy's Puritalia has officially unveiled their 427 roadster.
Inspired by the 1965 Shelby Cobra, the sports car features a carbon fiber and composite body which rides atop an aluminum and chromoly chassis. Notable styling highlights include an aggressive front fascia, two roll bars and 19- / 20-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires.
Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 445 PS (327 kW / 439 hp) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. If that's not enough, the engine can be equipped with a supercharger that enables it to develop 605 PS (445 kW / 597 hp) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque. Regardless of which engine is selected, it is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear-wheels via a limited slip differential.
Every car is handmade, so customers are assured "a truly unique piece of art that is a clear expression" of their tastes and personality.
According to founder Paolo Parente, "We decided to design and engineer the 427 simply because a similar car doesn't exist. The result, a powerful car using best in class technologies and materials to enhance and elevate the drivers experience. An exclusive item to own and designed for those (like us) who still love the pleasure of driving their own car and not be driven by it."
