First pictures of the 2013 Acura RLX have been discovered at the European trade marks and design office.

Previewed by a concept at the New York Auto Show, the production model has familiar styling but adopts new bumpers, revised side skirts and a roof-mounted antenna. Unfortunately, the concept's LED headlights have carried over despite their less than stellar appearance.

Interior pictures haven't been released, but Acura has said the model will feature "state-of-the-art communications, navigation and infotainment technologies." This we can expect an improved infotainment system and an updated AcuraLink communications system.

The range-topping RLX will have a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD) that consists of a 3.5-liter V6 engine, three electric motors and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It will have a combined output in excess of 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS).

There will also be an entry-level model which has a 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) engine that sends power to the front wheels.

The Acura RLX could be unveiled later this year, before going on sale in early 2013.
