The United States Environmental Protection Agency has rated the Tesla Model S at 88 MPGe city / 90 MPGe highway / 89 MPGe combined.

These are impressive numbers, but the Model S' combined rating is lower than the Honda Fit EV (118 MPGe), Ford Focus Electric (105 MPGe) and Nissan Leaf (99 MPGe).

However, models equipped with an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery will be able travel up to 265 miles (426 km) on a single charge. This is a tad less than the company's 300 mile (483 km) estimate, but still a long distance for an electric vehicle.
