Mercedes has introduced the new ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY.

Looking virtually identical to the standard model, the crossover features a turbocharged 4.7-liter (4663cc) V8 engine that develops 408 PS (300 kW / 402 hp) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission which enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 11.0 - 11.5 L/100km (32.9 - 34.4 mpg US / 24.6 - 25.7 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 258 - 269 g/km.

The ML 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY will start arriving at dealerships this fall and German pricing starts at €63,050 (excluding tax).

In related news, Mercedes announced the 2013 M-Class will be offered with several new options including massaging multicontour seats, a 1200 watt Bang & Olufsen audio system and Collision Prevention Assist.
