While this good news, Autocar is also reporting the model will retain its carbon fiber body which is a little surprising since Fiat's Engineering chief, Mauro Pierallini, recently said it would use a fiberglass reinforced plastic body.

Regardless, power is expected to be provided by a turbocharged 1.8-liter engine that produces 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp). The magazine also says the engine could be used in the upcoming Alfa Romeo Spider and Dodge Dart SRT4.
