Our most recent look at the facelifted Kia Sorento saw the model up on two wheels as it powered around Nurburgring. Unfortunately that prototype continued to wear camouflage that shielded the eventual styling but now we can show you a first shot of the model virtually undisguised.

The Sorento was initially launched in 2009 in Europe before it received a few minor updates for the current model year. For the 2014 model year, we can evidently see the front end has been extensively modified in the body shop and boasts a style that closer resembles the design language of the brand's K9 flagship vehicle.

Under the hood, we would expect the same options as the existing model to be carried over. This would include two diesel and two petrol units, the range topping version being the 3.5-liter V6 that generates 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 248 lb-ft (336 Nm) of torque.

We should expect to see the 2014 Kia Sorento facelift unveiled before the end of the year, possibly at the Paris Motor Show in September.
