Following first spy photos of an alleged high-performance Volvo S60 production model, digital artists at PS-Garage.com have created a speculative rendering of what the Polestar Peformance tuned vehicle could look like.

As previously reported, officially sanctioned Volvo motorsports team and tuner, Polestar Peformance, is reportedly developing a high-performance Volvo S60R to compete with the BMW M3 and the Mercedes C 63 AMG.

Spy photos showed a heavily camouflaged vehicle with a widened track and flared wheel arches in all four corners, plus wider than usual sporty wheels.

According to Swedish magazine Teknikens Varld, the S60R will be equipped with the same Yamaha built V8 currently employed in the Volvo XC90 SUV, S80 and Noble M600. In the S60R it will produce a minimum of 400 HP (294 kW / 394 bhp) through to a sequential gearbox tied to a Haldex all-wheel-drive system.

Public reveal of the Volvo S60R is expected sometime in 2013
