After setting an all-time lap record for a Ferrari powered car during qualifying at the recent 24 Hours of Nurburgring, the James Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 Competizione was on fire - literally!

During a pit stop, a small fuel spill caused a flash fire which was miraculously caught on "film." The event only lasted a few seconds and was extinguished quickly. But by judging from the photo, it looks like it could have been much worse, if the Glickenhaus team didn't react so quickly.

Despite the fire, the team went on to place 1st in class (Alternate Energy Class as a Hybrid) and 12th overall. Other accomplishments during the 24 Hours of Nurburgring include best non-German factory finish as well as beating many other factory teams which include McLaren, Aston Martin, Toyota, Jaguar, Toyota, Corvette and Ford GT.
