Chevrolet has announced the 2013 Corvette ZR1 will be the official pace car for the Indianapolis 500.

Designed to celebrate the model's 60th anniversary and final year of production (in its current form), the pace car will have an Arctic White exterior with body stripes and special badging.

As we have previously reported, the ZR1 features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 638 hp (476 kW / 647 PS) and 604 lb-ft (818 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the 3,353 lb (1,520 kg) supercar to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
