The BMW Z4 has always been an attractive car, but it hasn't won the hearts and minds of driving enthusiasts.
That could soon be changing as Inside Line is reporting the next-generation model will have a greater emphasis on delivering a sporty driving experience. However, engineers don't want to go overboard and alienate fans of the current model.
On the styling front, the car will reportedly benefit from a shorter hood and a conservative design that is targeted to look 'good' for at least 15 years.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but sources suggest the model will be offered with a variety of four-cylinder units. While they might not offer the grunt of an inline-six, they should enable the car to have better weight distribution.
If everything goes according to plan, the next-generation Z4 could be launched sometime around 2015.
