According to reports, Audi are planning on extending their SUV line-up with the new Q2 that will become the fourth model of the brand's SUV line-up.

The German premium brand are planning on introducing a concept version within the next 12 months before a full production version arrives in showrooms in 2-3 years.

There is still some debate over which platform will underpin Audi's smallest SUV. The MQB architecture that underpins the Audi A3 has been suggested and sounds the most likely, but we also hear a chopped version of the Q5/Q7's MSB platform is being considered.

The Q2 will sport a sloping roof that will emit a coupe-like profile but will result in limited luggage space. It will seat four people and is likely to be available in both two-door and four door versions.

Audi are expecting European markets to dominate the Q2 sales figures.
