BYD has announced plans to introduce the Qin hybrid-electric vehicle at the Beijing Motor Show.

BYD has announced plans to introduce their second-generation F3DM at the Beijing Motor Show.

Renamed the Qin, the model has an aggressive front bumper, LED-infused headlights and uniquely-shaped taillights.

Motivation is provided by a hybrid-electric powertrain which reportedly features a 1.5-liter petrol engine, an electric motor and a 16 kWh battery. It enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and travel 50-60 km (31-37 miles) on electricity alone. This should allow the model to have a fuel economy rating of 2L/100km (117.6 mpg US / 141.2 mpg UK).
