Porsche will be performing the world debut of the new Cayenne GTS at Auto China in Beijing later this month and here are the first images and details previewing the model. The German automaker boldly described it as an SUV that drives like a sports car.
Under the hood lies a 4.8-liter V8 engine that produces 420PS (309kW/414hp), which represents a 15PS bump over the previous generation, and it is mated with Porsche's eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission system. Additionally, the suspension has been stiffened to deal with the increased work being forced upon it and the overall ride height of the GTS has been lowered by 24mm compared to the Cayenne S variant.
It accelerates from standstill to 100kph (62mph) in 5.7 seconds and reaches 200kph (124mph) in 13.3 seconds while the top speed is rated at 260kph (162mph).
The Cayenne Turbo provides the inspiration for the front-end exterior styling and it is further complimented with side skirts, wider wheel arches as well as a distinctive roof spoiler with twin-wing profile.
Sales for the new Porsche Cayenne GTS are due to commence in July with pricing set to start at £67,147 in the UK market whilst their German counterparts will part with €90,774 (incl. VAT).
