Mercedes-Benz has released full details and 30 photos for the all-new 2013 Mercedes GL-Class that made its public debut at the New York Auto Show today.

Oozing bells and whistles the full-size seven passenger luxury SUV features new standard equipment such as Collision Prevention Assist, Attention Assist, Crosswind Stabilization, Central COMAND controller, Electromechanical steering, Direct-injection twin-turbo gasoline V8 engines and a color instrument cluster display.

Optional highlights include Multi-color Ambient Lighting, Parktronic with Active Parking Assist, Active Curve System, On- and Off-Road Package, Surround View Camera, Driver Assistance Package, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Power EASY-ENTRY second row and Panoramic roof.

The 2013 GL-Class is available in three versions: the GL350 BlueTEC with 240hp, 455 lb-ft (previously 210 hp, 400 lb-ft), the GL450 with 362hp, 406 lb-ft (previously 335 hp, 339 lb-ft) and the top GL550 producing 429hp, 516 lb-ft (previously 382 hp, 391 lb-ft).

Regarding performance the GL350, GL450 and GL550 run an estimated 0-60mph time in 8.3, 6.2 and 5.5 seconds, respectively.

Mercedes-Benz USA hasn't specified fuel efficiency figures yet, but in Germany the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC is provisionally listed as 7.4-8.0 liters/100km and CO2 192-209 g/km and the GL 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY at 11.3-11.6 liters/100km and CO2 at 262-269 g/km. In the UK the combined figures are 38 mpg and 25 mpg - a 20 percent and 18 percent improvement over its predecessor, respectively.

The 2013 GL-Class goes on sale in the U.S. in September 2012 and the UK in early 2013.
