Acura has announced today a new flagship model in concept form will makes its world premiere at New York Auto Show next week.

Confirming previous reports, the concept vehicle will feature the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system from the NSX. The system will reportedly feature two electric motors that power the rear wheels and will be backed up by a petrol engine that powers the front wheels.

The concept, which previews the next generation RL, will be renamed RLX. Acura promises the RLX concept vehicle will deliver an entirely new level of performance, sophistication and comfort.

The current generation Acura RL has been on the market since 2004.
