Kia has officially unveiled the 2013 Sorento.

Modestly updated, the model features a prominent front fascia, body color accents and 17-inch alloy wheels. Moving up to the range-topping SX nets buyers a chromed exhaust tip, LED tail lights and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the entry-level model comes nicely equipped with air conditioning, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and power windows. New options include an UVO infotainment system and a Convenience Plus Package with an eight-way power driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a first aid kit. Next up, the EX gains newly standard leather seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. Lastly, the SX features all the aforementioned equipment as well as heated/cooled front seats, stainless steel pedals and illuminated scuff plates.

Under the hood, three engines are available:

  • A 2.4-liter MPI four-cylinder with 175 hp (131 kW / 177 PS) and 169 lb-ft (229 Nm) of torque
  • A 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder with 191 hp (142 kW / 194 PS) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque
  • A 3.5-liter V6 with 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 248 lb-ft (336 Nm) of torque

Regardless of which engine is selected, it is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is standard, but an all-wheel drive system is optional.
