"Refined with surgical precision" is how Gemballa describes their GT tuning package for the new 991 Porsche 911 Carrera which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
Gemballa CEO, Andreas Schwarz, ackowledges the potency of this latest generation 911 by giving the comparison that the 991 Carrera S with PDK transmission has such outstanding performance it is almost a match for the outgoing 911 GT3.
The Gemballa GT 911 features a subtle body kit consisting of new front and rear bumpers and side skirts. All pieces are made from lightweight carbon fiber and are designed to fit precisely to the car's factory mounting points. As a result, the conversion is completely reversible.
Gemballa adds 21-inch ultra-light forged alloy wheels, which are slightly lighter than the standard 19-inch wheels let alone the 20-inch wheels on the Carrera S.
"Lowering the unsprung weight despite going up a wheel size was a priority," explained Andreas Schwarz, who pushed his wheel supplier to innovate in both design and construction.
Last but not least, the Gemballa exhaust system features a very distinct six tailpipes, which helps the standard 340hp 3.4-liter and 400hp 3.8 liter flat-six engines breathe more easily with a deeper tone.
