The Kia Rondo MPV has been caught for the first time while testing in cold weather conditions. It is the full production version of sister brand's Hyundai HED-5 i-Mode Concept who will also have their own version in the form of the ix30 MPV.

The Kia Rondo MPV has been caught for the first time while testing in cold weather conditions. It is the full production version of sister brand's Hyundai HED-5 i-Mode Concept. Hyundai's version known as the ix30 MPV has also been spotted cold weather testing recently.

It is based on the platform of the Kia Cee'd / Hyundai i30 and will have both five and seven seater configurations. Additionally, the engine range will also carry over. This will include three diesel engines a 1.6-liter unit with 128 PS (94 kW / 126 hp) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque as well three petrol engine options topped out by a 1.6-liter Gamma DGI unit with 135 PS (99 kW / 133 hp) and 164 Nm (121 lb-ft) of torque.

Expect to see the Kia Rondo unveiled during 2013 before its market launch when it will take on the Ford C-MAX and VW Touran.
