Making its world premiere alongside the upcoming Escalade Hybrid, Cadillac announced the Platinum edition will come to market in the spring of 2008 as the most luxurious model in the Escalade lineup.

More luxury, style and exclusivity

Especially for the wealthy who think that the Cadillac Escalade is not luxurious enough Cadillac has released the Cadillac Escalade Platinum Edition. Last friday we brought you news of the Escalade Hybrid which was revealed simultaneously with the Platinum edition.

The Escalade Platinum joins the Cadillac XLR Roadster and DTS. “The new Platinum edition elevates and extends Escalade’s position as the large SUV of choice among luxury consumers,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager.

The Escalade Platinum features handcrafted aniline leather interior, unique design details and a few new technological gadgets. For one it will feature LED (Light Emitting Diode) headlights, Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) suspension (a real-time damping system also found on the XLR Roadster and Corvette), a front and rear fascia styled after the Cadillac CTS, unique 22-inch wheels and the mandatory badges inside and out.

The 403 hp (301 kW with 565 Nm of torque) 6.2 liter V8 engine is fitted with variable valve timing (VVT) technology to improve low and high-rpm horsepower output and is connected to the Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission.
