Subaru has announced the new BRZ 2+2 coupe will receive three trim levels in the UK including a "stripped out" purist version.
The top-of-the-range BRZ will include 17-inch alloy wheels, a torque-sensing Limited Slip Differential, front, side, curtain and knee airbags, MP3 connectivity, dual-zone climate control and LED daytime running lights.
Same as other international markets, the BRZ is powered by a 2.0-liter boxer engine with 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. It can be paired to a six-speed short-shift manual or six-speed paddle-operated automatic transmission with Subaru's VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) available for both transmissions.
No specs have been released yet for a middle range model, but it will arrive later in the year in addition to a third "stripped out" purist version.
This BRZ purist version announcement, which promises to be an ideal option for tuners and track-day enthusiasts, comes as a surprise as it was not expected to be shipped out of Japan due to its low profit margins. However, the UK being a RHD market (same as Japan) may have tipped the balance. Nonetheless, it is welcomed news.
No pricing was announced yet, but the BRZ will be availabvle in Blue Mica, Sterling Silver, Satin White, Crystal Black Silica, Dark Grey Metallic and San Remo Red.
