Jeep is taking baby steps in Europe by showing a production-intent special edition Grand Cherokee sports concept at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6. Jeep wants to guage the public's reaction of the specially trimmed Grand Cherokee before making it available to the market.
Just like the Jeep Compass concept covered earlier today, the Grand Chrokee is also going for a gloss black accent look which is found on the 20-inch aluminum wheels, headlamp bezels, grille surround, tinted rear passenger windows, liftgate light-bar and new roof molding covers that replace the roof rack. For some contrast there is a mesh grille and lower bumper fascia applique in Platinum Chrome plus black chrome dual exhaust tips.
The interior features a heated leather steering wheel and Nappa leather and suede seats. Real carbon fiber trim pieces are found in the instrument panel and door trim panels. Bright brake and accelerator pedals are the final detail.
Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine with Fiat's Multijet II technology producing 241 hp (177 kW) and torque of 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) via a five-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Range Select (ERS).
