The Rinspeed Dock+Go Concept takes a two-seater electric smart fortwo and adds a docking station at the rear that gives it an extra battery pack as well as additional cargo or practicality space according to specific needs.

The innovation within the docking station is how the axle connected to the third row of wheels charges the battery giving the electric smart an additional range on a single charge. The third axle even drives the rotating second axle that will see the smart's onboard battery re-charged as well.

The docking station can be fashioned into a number of different pack types according to the user's needs and Rinspeed examples a few of them for your enjoyment. One is fashioned for a Pizza delivery vehicle that features a built-in isothermal box. Additionally, Rinspeed has shown a pack that turns the smart car into a pickup truck but the most enticing option is probably the sound pack. It features a high-end sound solution from multimedia and infotainment specialist Harman and is sure to appeal to the younger generations. Each pack is demonstrated in the following videos.
