Next week is the beginning of the 2012 Chicago Auto Show and we know what to expect from one Korean auto maker. Kia have released this initial teaser image of the Track'ster Concept that they plan to unveil at the event.
Under the skin, the platform from the boxy Soul has been used, but this concept will show a sportier side to the model. The three-door concept has been designed to showcase the ultimate sporting representation of the Soul.
There are no confirmations on whether the concept is planning to head into production. It is possible it has been created purely for promotional purposes, much like Nissan did when they unveiled the 485 bhp (362 kW / 492 PS) Juke R.
If production is approved, a more suitable power unit is likely to be used. Reports have suggested the new 1.6 liter turbocharged engine from the Hyundai Veloster would be a viable option. It is capable of generating 208 hp (155 kW) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque and would certainly give it the performance it would require against other rivals in its class.
Keep an eye on WCF for full details when it is unveiled on February 8th.
