According to a recent report, the Peugeot 208 GTi could use the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine from the MINI Cooper S.
New details are starting to emerge about the Peugeot 208 GTi.
According to Auto Express, the model will be distinguished by an aggressive body kit, large alloy wheels and a dual exhaust system. We can also expect an upgraded interior with sport seats, unique trim and plenty of GTi badging.
Power could be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine from the MINI Cooper S. It produces 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque which should enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than seven seconds. If that fast isn't enough, there have been rumors of a high-performance variant with approximately 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp).
There's no word on when the model could be introduced, but the magazine speculates it could debut as early as the Geneva Motor Show.
