MG has announced they will enter two MG6 GT cars in the 2012 British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) series with support from an all-British "dream team" of cars, drivers, constructors and sponsors.

Showing that the newly formed MG KX Momentum Racing team means business, they've enlisted the help of star driver Jason Plato. It's very possible you already know Plato's name as he is the most successful driver in BTCC history achieving 68 career wins, most fastest laps, pole and podiums than any other driver in the history of the BTCC. But most likely even more well known is Plato's role as co-host for the Fifth Gear television program.

"It's really exciting to be involved in a brand-new all-British team and it's just brilliant that the iconic name of MG will be back on the track," Plato said.

The other components of the dream team include BTCC rookie driver Andy Neate in car two, car builder Triple Eight Race Engineering, principal sponsors Tesco Fuels and KX energy drink.
