Mercedes has been pretty quiet during the development of the all-new 2013 A-class. The last time we saw prototype pictures of the regular model was way back in June last year. Fortunately, we are now treated to not just pictures, but a full blown video.
The styling is well hidden in the clip you see above, but hiding under that black clad camouflage is a design that has been revealed to us already. A concept version of the A-class was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show early last year and the production styling was also leaked via a patent filing by the German automaker.
Engine options are expected to mirror the the 2012 B-Class, so expect five petrols with 109 PS (80 kW / 108 hp) to 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp) as well as four diesels with 122 PS (90 kW / 120 hp) to 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp).
Furthermore, Mercedes will also be launching an AMG variant of the A-class. Rumours circling around the web suggest it will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with up to 355 PS (261 kW / 350 hp). The high performance model may also get dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.
