Students across Europe have been challenged to create a design for the 2020 Opel Ampera. The idea is for the designs to be developed using social media, where fellow entrants and expert designers from Opel/Vauxhall can give feedback.

The final designs must envision both the interior and exterior and follow the brand's 'Sculptural Artistry meets German Precision' theme. Aside from the basic designs, the students must also realistically envision the technologies that the electrically-driven Opel Ampera will incorporate.

"We're really looking forward to seeing the designs and actively giving feedback to the ideas of the contestants," says Mark Adams, who as Vice President of Design is responsible for all Opel/Vauxhall models. "It's exciting to see what kinds of thoughts the designers of tomorrow have."

The winner of the competition will gain paid placements at Opel/Vauxhall's studios. Full details are available in the press release below.
