The new Cadillac ATS has now to be revealed, time to start speculating what direction General Motors will expand the line-up. According to a very short report by the folks over at Inside Line, we could be seeing a new Roadster based on the ATS platform.
The new ATS was built on a new rear-wheel drive architecture and costs associated with this normally require it to be used on additional models. The ATS has squared up directly against the BMW 3-series and Mercedes C-Class, both of which also have a roadster variant in their portfolio. Therefore it is easy to assume an ATS-based Roadster will soon be in development.
Unfortunately the insiders failed to provide any further details at this point, although they did say the same drivetrain configurations will be used.
