Renault has unveiled the 2012 Megane. It features revised styling and three new engines.
Renault has unveiled the 2012 Megane facelift.
Designed to be "more contemporary," the model features a new front fascia, LED daytime running lights and restyled wheels.
Inside, there's an updated audio system and "Renault Sport" sill plates on GT / GT-Line variants. New options include a leather/Alcantara seating package and a Visio system which includes automatic high-beam headlights and a lane departure warning function.
Under the hood, three new engines are available. The Energy dCi 110 develops 110 PS (81 kW / 108 hp) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to average 3.8 L/100km (74.3 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of less than 95 g/km.
If you want something more powerful, the 1.6-liter Energy dCi 130 has a 130 PS (96 kW / 128 hp) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. In terms of efficiency, the engine returns 4.0 L/100km (70.6 mpg UK) and CO2 emissions of 104 g/km.
Lastly, the 1.2-liter Energy TCe 115 produces 115 PS (85 kW / 113 hp) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque. It has a combined fuel consumption of 5.3 L/100km (53.2 mpg UK) and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
In related news, the Megane RS' engine has been tweaked to deliver an additional 15 PS (11 kW / 15 hp) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) of torque in sport mode. The model also benefits from LED-infused headlights, an upgraded interior and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2012 Megane will be launched in Europe in March.
