Dodge performance division Mopar is getting ready to reveal the 2012 Dodge Charger Redline (based on R/T model) at the Detroit Auto Show later this month.

A comprehensive tuning and accessories package for the modern day muscle car, Mopar has created a stage 1 package for exterior and interior appearance and stage 2 for bolt-on performance. Stage 3 brings the overall progam full circle with crate engine swap.

Stage 1 exterior and interior components includes:

  • Carbon fiber chin spoiler
  • Two-piece grille with body-color painted-grille surround and black signature "crosshair" insert
  • Large 20 x 8-inch Mopar Black Envy Wheels
  • Carbon fiber door scoops with "R/T" badging
  • Three-piece Mopar carbon fiber rear spoiler
  • Vinyl roof graphic in matte black
  • Aluminum shift bezel
  • Aluminum instrument panel bezel with Redline perimeter accent
  • Stainless steel pedal covers

Stage 2 bolt-on performance parts focus in handling and braking:

  • cat-back performance exhaust system
  • front-tower cross-brace with caps
  • sport brake pads

Stage 3 is all about serious engine performance as the the standard 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine which outputs 370 hp (375 PS / 276 kW) is swapped out for Mopar's high-output version of the Gen III 426 (7.0-liter) HEMI V-8 crate engine which produces 590 hp (598 PS / 440 kW) and is 100 lbs. (45 kg) lighter. Mopar emphasizes that this engine is for race/off-road use only.
