At this past Essen motor show, specialty Porsche tuner 9ff revealed the GT9-CS (club sports). As the name implies, the GT9-CS is intended for the track. Body changes include new front splitter, widened wheel arches, redesigned side sills and rear spoiler, additional air vents added to the front fenders, upper and lower quarter panels and roof.
The GT9 is famous for its 409+ km/h (249 mph) top speed. A Frankenstein of sorts, the GT9 uses the classic Porsche 911 silhouette but under the skin it's an entirely different beast. The GT9's body is made of lightweight carbon fiber underpinned by a custom developed steel tube chassis with integrated roll cage. Lightweight doors are bolted on while the side and rear windows are made of lightweight Makrolon perspex. The GT9 has a curb weight of 1240 kg (2733 lbs).
The mid-engine sports car is powered by a heavily modified 3.6-liter 6-cylinder twin turbo engine from Porsche. The boxer engine produces 750 PS (740 bhp / 551 kW) and 910 Nm (731 lb-ft) of torque. However, 9ff makes a more powerful version with 1,140 PS (1,120 bhp / 840 kW) as seen in the GT9-R.
The GT9-CS rides on 345mm wide Michelin Cup tires to the rear and hits 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds while 5.2 seconds later 200 km/h (124 mph) is reached and still pulling all the way up to 364 km/h (226 mph). At the opposite end of the spectrum, the GT9-CS will decelerate from 300 km/h (186 mph) to 0 in just 6.7 seconds thanks to a ceramic brakes system which uses 6-piston calipers with 380mm disks in the front and 4-piston calipers with 350mm at the rear.
Base price for the GT9-CS is €375,000.
