In cooperation with the ‘C-Forum' Citroën fan club, Citroën has released a series of photographs recreating a photo shoot of the classic Citroën DS model along side the famous Concorde supersonic aircraft from back in the 1970s.
This time the subject is the aviation-inspired new Citroën DS5. Posing under the wings of the classic Concorde, the pictures taken at Le Bourget Airport, France are the work of Citroën Styling photographer Laurent Nivalle.
With pilot-style overhead switches inspired by plane cockpits, a head-up display and a roof divided into three light wells, the aviation design cues are clear to see.
The Citroen DS5 debuted at Auto Shanghai back in April of this year. Based on the Peugeot 3008/5008 platform, the top range DS model features PSA Group's HYbrid4 technology which couples a 163 PS (120 kW / 161 bhp) 2.0 liter diesel engine to a 37 PS (27 kW) electric motor powering the rear axle.
The DS5 market launch in the UK will begin in March 2012.
