BMW recently signed a deal to collaborate with Toyota on eco-friendly technologies, but a new report is indicating the Bavarian automaker is also planning to team up with General Motors.

According to Germany's Wirtschaftswoche, the two companies are close to reaching an agreement which would give BMW access to GM's fuel cell technology. In return, BMW would reportedly make financial contributions to help offset research and development costs.

When asked about a possible agreement, a BMW spokesperson commented "We are speaking to GM about various future technologies but we are not saying anything more beyond that."
